African Parks is a non -profit international non -governmental organization that assumes full responsibility for rehabilitation and long -term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities.
As such, African Parks has signed a partnership with the Central African government for the management of the Chinko conservation area (ACC) for a period of 25 years.
- Objet
African Parks research 01 Backup Manager Full -time to ensure the effective and secure management of data related to the protected area of Chinko. Plan, organize and provide training on human rights and social safeguards for all park staff, emphasizing the application of human rights according to the procedures of African Parks (AP).

- Description :
The Backup manager is in charge of the management and protection of essential data of the organization. It ensures the implementation of effective strategies for safeguarding, archiving and recovery of critical information. It ensures compliance with security protocols, guarantees data integrity and optimizes storage systems. It also ensures rigorous monitoring of backup and restoration processes to avoid any loss of information. Finally, he plays a key role in raising awareness and training on good practices in terms of backup and data security management.
The position requires:
- Work under the direction of the Park Manager based in Kocho;
- Work in a multicultural team;
- Collaborate with other managers of the department based in Kocho;
- Collaborate with the community;
- Collaborate with representatives of local administrative and traditional authorities.
- Description of tasks:
- Planning, organizing and directing training and reinforcements of human rights and ESS capacities for all the staff of African Parks (AP) in the park, by placing priority on human rights in the application of the ESS/Community Relations Act;
- Establish proactive monitoring systems, safeguard policies and processes – such as the use of internal and/or external human rights experts, appeal mechanisms, audits, consultations, surveys or field visits – designed to identify activities that can pose risks for human rights and/or ESS, and to implement and implement attenuation strategies of the park;
- Integrate policies and backup processes – with specific objectives aimed at integrating project risk assessments and installing an appeal mechanism in the park;
- Guarantee the integration of considerations relating to human rights and ESS in planning and programming at the park level (for example, business plans over five years; Community engagement plans; disciplinary codes; etc.), performance monitoring at the park level and evaluation at the park level;
- Ensure the establishment of a functional appeal mechanism in each park, with an implementation of a rapid examination of all appeals and the development of appropriate mitigation and/or monitoring measures in coordination with the AP appeal agent, the Parc management and the regional backup manager;
- Ensure the application of backups to key projects and complex initiatives – emphasizing compliance with guidelines on free, prerequisite and informed consent (CLPE);
- Direct the monitoring and evaluation of compliance with human rights and ESS, and guarantee professional standards in all reports on human rights and ESS;
- Support the parks in the implementation of agreed action plans to comply with the ESS standards, and in the realization of formal assessments, including the evaluation of the environmental impact (EIA) and the evaluation of the environmental and social impact (EIES)
- Maintain local and national partnerships with the communities of human rights/ESS to identify emerging concerns in terms of human rights and ESS, create and maintain a risk register, and provide periodic reports to the Parc Management and the Regional Directorate;
- Direct internal AP surveys and/or investigations into well -based allegations of activities that can constitute abuse of human rights, and document and report the results;
- In coordination with the FRM of the park, preparing and/or contributing to reports, briefings, analyzes or any other communication required by donors, partners or other AP departments concerning human rights and ESS;
- Help the park management to identify, train and supervise human and ESS rights staff at the park;
- Promote an environment of excellence, teamwork, integrity and professionalism in all programs and operations related to human rights and ESS;
- Develop the next generation of APN managers by positive example and mentoring; And
- Execute other tasks, according to needs, which contribute to the success of AP operations and programs.
Skills, skills and experience
- Academic or professional experience, preferably legal, demonstrating in -depth knowledge and exposure to a range of questions relating to human and humanitarian rights, in particular in safety, conservation or development contexts.
- Solid analytical skills, research, survey, monitoring, reporting, as well as verbal and written communication, with a proven capacity to identify and analyze complex social, legal and political issues.
- Experience in training, in particular in multicultural environments.
