We are looking for an interpreter for English-French / French-English for an international working meeting at bread for the world in Berlin from 08.-12.09.2025. The participants come from DR Congo, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cambodia and Germany. Familiarity with technical terms from development and peace work are an advantage.
We do not use cabins, but “whispering” or consecutive interpreting. The interpretation takes place by a team of two interpreters.
There will probably be two long days on which interpreting from around 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and two shorter ones from around 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (including breaks). A translation is required on 4 of the 5 days.
Background of the meeting
Bread for the world is currently carrying out nine country and regional programs of the Civil Peace Service (ZFD) together with local partner organizations. For each of these programs there is a coordinator or a coordinator. Bread for the world would like to organize an international meeting of the ZFD coordinators in order to promote learning and cooperation. We expect 11 coordinators who take part in the meeting in the Bread for the World in Berlin from September 08 to September 12, 2025. The meeting is held in English and interpreted into French, as some of the coordinators speak English or French. The main responsibility for the preparation of the meeting lies with the ZFD team from bread for the world.
