The context

Emergency interventions in the face of crises, conflicts, natural disasters are one of the priority intervention axes for doctors of the world. Our financial independence, the strength of our partnerships, the involvement and flexibility of our teams are all key elements to provide an effective response to these disasters.

In the current MDM strategic plan, emergencies and crises are listed as a priority theme under axis 1: promote health through access to care and the evolution of law. Hosted within the Directorate of International Operations, the emergency unit is an operational service implementing the association’s emergency programs, in acute contexts of armed conflicts, in response to epidemics or following natural disasters. It is made up of an integrated team and a coordinator team from Voltiger.

The post

You are part of the Voltiger.Suse. The emergency unit is also requested to participate in exploratory missions, to support existing MDM operations through “Gap-Filling” or to support the implementation of specific activities. When you are at the headquarters (20% of the time) you are under the responsibility of the head of the emergency unit. When you are deployed in the field (80% of the time), you report directly to the Coordinator .Crice General of the Mission and you supervise the emergency team made up of Voltiger.euse.s. You also work in close collaboration with the head of emergency operations at the head office. The duration of a deployment in the field is 3 months maximum and is followed by a recovery time.

You have operational responsibility for the entire intervention mission of MDM France, in its administrative, financial, human, security, material and organizational components. You are also responsible for the quality of the actions and the guarantor of the teams’ respect for MDM executives, policies and procedures.

Your main responsibilities are as follows:

Supervision of emergency operations in the field

• Ensure the opening of new mission (s) by implementing MDM procedures and policies
• Carry out exploratory missions
• Direct, coordinate and supervise emergency interventions
• Supervise finances, human resources, the supply chain, security and security in the field
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local coordination structures and stakeholders
• Identify, evaluate, follow and proactively implement measures to reduce or control the risks likely to have an impact on field operations and the implementation of the program
• Be the focal point for security in the operating area, supervise the implementation of the security management plan and compliance with standard operational procedures

Reinforcement of the response to MDM emergencies at the level of the seat

• Provide specific support for preparation and response to emergency situations to MDM national programs
• Contribute to the development of operational tools for MDM emergency operations
• Contribute to the continuous development of the global strategic approach to emergency health response

Profile sought

• Higher education in project management or generalist (Bac+5)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector at a chef.
• Experience in exploratory missions in emergency contexts
• Experience in risk analysis and development of humanitarian access strategies
• Program management experience funded by donors
• Experience in representation with humanitarian actors, local authorities and donors
• Experience in safety and security management, including in a volatile context
• Current mastery of the Office Pack
• Mastering cartography software (Google Eath or ArcGIS)
• French and English imperative
• The mastery of Spanish and/or Arabic is an asset
• You join the militant values ​​and positioning of world doctors

Conditions of employment

• Under -term contract (CDI)
• Position to be filled from 05/09/2025 – Deployment on the ground not before 1 month of integration (face -to -face/telework according to our telework agreement)
• 80% station based in the field and 20% at headquarters
• Gross monthly salary of 3,964 euros
• Full -time station
• 13th month from 6 months of seniority and paid in 2 times
• Travel premium of 198.18 euros gross/month in pro rata of the presence time in the field
• At headquarters, restaurant tickets with a unit value of 9 euros (participation up to 60% MDM, 40% of the employee) and in the field via a flat -rate restoration allowance fixed according to the country
• At headquarters, reimbursement of the 50% public transportation title (Navigo subscription for Parisians) and 100% Terrain-Terrain Support
• Housing supported in the field 100% and at headquarters if necessary if briefing/debriefing (2 nights max)
• Mutual: 60% MDM participation and 40% of the employee
• Leaves: 22.5 RTT / year and 5 weeks paid vacation / year
• Teleworking agreement subject to the eligibility of your position: 110 days of telework per year (an average of 2.5 days of telework per week) with the obligation to work in face -to -face at least 5 days per month
