About work
DRC/ACM has been present in Colombia since 2011, focused on capacity building, creating humanitarian demining programs and supporting populations affected by conflict in the south of the country.
We work to enable communities emerging from conflict to regain access to their homes and support the efforts of governments, relief and development organizations to enable community recovery and transition to social and economic development. Currently, we are looking for an ENT Team Leader to work in the department of Bolívar, in the different municipalities assigned to DRC.
Purpose of the position
Direct your team in research activities and information analysis that allow you to determine the status of the areas assigned to DRC in the presence or absence of Explosive Devices, contributing to the land release process in an efficient and systematic manner.
Responsibilities:
- Collect available information that allows you to determine the status of the sectors assigned to DRC, including: geographic information, socioeconomic conditions, mine accidents, among others.
- Organize an information network that includes authorities, communities, NGOs and other possible sources of information.
- Carry out the planning of information collection activities in the field.
- Analyze the available information that allows you to conclude the status of the sectors of the zones assigned to DRC.
- Carry out the establishment of polygons, their reports and other regulatory elements.
- Carry out, in accordance with your competencies, the first analysis of the possible contamination present in the area.
- Serve as a liaison point for local representatives at different levels, in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Assess needs at the verada or township level, establish priorities in cooperation with all interested parties at the local level.
- Analyze the data collected and, when necessary, disclose the information.
- Ensure that the ENT supervisor is fully informed of all issues related to Non-Technical Study activities.
- Ensure compliance with security measures during field visits.
- Facilitate the development of ACM program activities in assigned areas.
- Follow the operational procedures developed by the organization and approved by the OACP.
- Assist Management in the induction, integration and training processes of new members of the organization.
- Keep the first aid and MEDEVAC skills that the organization instructs you up to date.
- Ensure that the equipment and means made available to you are used correctly, keeping them in perfect operational condition (cleanliness and care).
- Ensure that all information collected is recorded accurately, in regulatory formats.
- Coordinate community liaison and mine risk education presentations in the area of responsibility when required.
- Participate in the development of ERM materials and ERM public information campaigns when required by the ENT Supervisor.
- Collect information in target communities through direct interviews or focus group discussions when required by the ENT supervisor.
- Responsible for your own safety and that of all team members.
- Any other duties as directed by the ENT supervisor.
Safety and Health at Work
- Seek comprehensive care for your health.
- Actively participate in the formation of COPASST – Labor Coexistence Committee – Emergency Brigades, as well as the activities they carry out.
- Comply with the rules, regulations and instructions of the SG SST.
- Report in a timely manner the dangers and risks latent with your workplace.
- Attend OSH training defined by the SG-SST training program. • Ensure the maintenance of order and cleanliness in your position and work area.
- Provide clear, truthful and complete information about your health status.
- Immediately report to the OSH area and your immediate boss any work-related accidents, incidents (near-misses) and illnesses diagnosed as work-related.
- Report to the immediate supervisor the need to take corrective or preventive actions, which correspond to real or potential non-conformities of the process to which it belongs.
- Participate in training activities, drills and those that are scheduled from safety and health at work.
- Participate and contribute to the fulfillment of the SG-SST policy and objectives.
Other functions:
- Understand, represent and respect the strategy and mandate of the DRC-ACM, as well as ensure such understanding and adherence in the team.
- Enforce and ensure that the team applies mission safety rules at all times.
- Any other duties assigned by the Field Technical Manager and Operations Manager.
- Maintain the vehicle in your charge in perfect condition of cleanliness, presentation, operation and conservation.
- Ensure the care of the vehicle assigned under your responsibility.
- Comply with internal work regulations, local safety regulations and road rules.
- Drive the assigned vehicle, in compliance with the transportation or mobilization activities required by the Organization, according to the instructions provided, DRC driving rules, driving schedule in addition to hosting risk areas.
- Timely inform the immediate boss about the itinerary, performance, mileage, failures of the operated vehicles and tanks.
- Ensure that the trip to be made is registered and authorized in the weekly vehicle schedule.
- Promptly inform the office in charge of maintenance and repair of the vehicles of all types of failures or damage to the vehicle and, if necessary, carry out any procedure with insurance companies. • Promptly inform the appropriate party of any collision or traffic accident that occurs. present in the performance of his duties.
- Responsible for onboard equipment such as road kit, first aid kit, keys and vehicle documents.
- You must ensure that passengers make good use of the vehicle, in addition to ensuring that they take safety measures, specifically the seat belt.
- Store the vehicle as soon as it has been indicated and in the assigned place.
Medical support, Command and Control:
- Keep the first aid and MEDEVAC skills that the organization instructs you up to date.
- Know in detail the MEDEVAC Plans at your work site, base, camps and/or en route.
- Assist the person responsible at all times in the execution of the MEDEVAC in the event of an accident.
Logistics and resources:
- Ensure that the equipment and means made available to you are used correctly, keeping them in perfect operational condition (cleanliness and care).
- Immediately report all damage and/or loss of materials/equipment to the ENT Supervisor.
- You must comply with traffic laws, vehicle care and maintenance and any other regulations that ensure the care of the vehicle.
- Support in the daily maintenance activities of the areas inhabited by DRC, camp, demining areas and others related to the organization.
Cross-cutting responsibilities:
- Attend special training as required.
- Apply humanitarian and DRC principles in the exercise of their functions.
- Be willing to carry out other tasks, in which DRC-ACM trains you, for the best fulfillment of the objectives and indicators of the program, for example, performing the tasks of Community Liaison, clearing team leader, and Vehicle driver.
- Comply with the organization’s code of conduct.

Education:
- ENT Team Leader Course and Accreditation
- ENT Assistant Course and Accreditation
Desirable:
Equivalent training and positions in other organizations are valid:
- Technician or Technologist in some area of knowledge.
- Course and accreditation of non-technical study.
- EOD I and 2 course and accreditation or Clearance.
- Mine Risk Education Course.
- Experience in Internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes
Languages:
- English desirable.
Experiences and technical skills:
- Demonstrable ability to develop, manage and/or quality assurance and quality control of survey and clearance operations, including motivation and leadership of the team(s).
- Computer management and data acquisition.
- B1-B2 driver’s license.
- Demonstrable development ability, management of internal Quality control of non-technical study operations, including motivation and leadership of the team(s).
- 2 years of specific experience in demining and knowledge in ERM.
