WHAT DO WE DO …

The NGO SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been working with populations affected by the most severe crises since 1980.

It helps people affected by conflict, violence, epidemics, natural and climatic disasters and economic collapse.

Its humanitarian teams – nearly 2,500 people spread across nearly 25 countries – have the mission of helping those whose safety, health and lives are threatened, by covering their essential needs: drinking, eating and shelter.

They intervene with the fierce desire for constant respect for the humanitarian principles of humanity, independence, impartiality and neutrality.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Within the Development and Communication department made up of 19 people, and directly reporting to the Events and Regional Delegations Manager, you will provide support for the organization of events from headquarters and the development of regional volunteer delegations.

The communications department organizes events at headquarters and supervises regional delegations. A regional delegation is a team composed solely of volunteers based in the region, which carries out communication and awareness-raising actions to make our NGO and the fights it leads known to a wide audience. Currently, three regional delegations are active: Brittany, Pays de la Loire and Ile de France.

Main missions :

SUPPORT FOR HEADQUARTERS EVENT PROJECTS

As an events and regional delegations assistant, you will take an active part in the design, implementation and review phases of the association’s various events:

Humanitarian talk and various events linked to our annual thematic campaign
Evening of wishes
World Water Day
Exposition-photos
Conferences, round tables
Screenings of our documentary series Of Your Own Eyes
Other events linked to other departments

SUPPORT FOR REGIONAL DELEGATION PROJECTS

As an events and regional delegations assistant, you will support the animation and development of our regional volunteer delegations:

Recruitment and monitoring of new volunteers to carry out awareness events and actions
Identification of new events where we can deploy our Water Bar in the Ile de France, Pays de Loire and Brittany regions
Identification of new schools in which to deploy our Water Game workshops (for children)
Participation in school interventions and training of volunteers to intervene in schools
Support for the deployment of our new “Water Drop” tool
Creation of tools for volunteers: recruitment, integration and management of a delegation
Creation of communication supports for delegations
Identification of new visibility channels for local delegation events

Days worked on weekends and/or evenings while traveling to events will be recovered.

HELP WITH CREATING VISIBILITY TOOLS

The Events and Regional Delegations Manager also manages goodies and visibility tools. Your mission will be to support them on the following subjects:

Prospecting for new visibility tools
Call for tenders and comparison of the different suppliers prospected
Order management, delivery receipt and storage
Stock tracking, replenishment management

PARTICIPATION IN INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Collection and dissemination of information internally
Participation in department discussions and meetings
Occasional contribution to other actions of the communication department

YOUR PROFILE

Higher education (bac +3 level) preferably focused on communication, events and/or project management.
Real interest and motivation for associations and humanitarian work
Ideally, initial professional experience in communications
Excellent writing skills
Creativity, rigor, organization and autonomy
Computers: good DTP skills (Adobe CC pack and in particular InDesign and Photoshop), Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and social networks, email (Outlook)

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Available: end of September, beginning of October 2024

Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station

Duration: 6 months
Possible trips to regions to be planned
Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence during the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Meal vouchers at €8.90/day of actual training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL

Internship contributions:

At the end of your internship in the Communication department of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL:

You will understand how the headquarters of a major international NGO works, the different professions that make it up and the relationships between the different humanitarian actors.
You will have a global vision of the communication strategy of an NGO whose main challenge is to improve its notoriety
You will have an initial approach to the functioning of volunteer delegations of an NGO, you will know how to collaborate with teams of volunteers
You will know the different stages of organizing events, from design to assessment
You will be able to put into practice your creative skills (graphics and audiovisual) and production monitoring tools.
