We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our dedicated team in East Jerusalem starting April 2025.

Who we are

forumZFD is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO), established in 1996. We are working in the field of conflict transformation in Europe, the Middle East, and South-East Asia.

Located in East Jerusalem, forumZFD’s regional office works on projects in both Palestine and Israel since 1999. We work through partnerships with local civil society including NGOs, grassroots organizations,student journalists, youth and women groups, activists, and artists. Together we implement projects and events.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The Finance Manager is responsible for finance oversight for the budget development, book-keeping and assurance of adherence to our donor’s finance guidelines, as well as line-management of one finance officer. The finance manager will also provide guidance and support to project team members to support them in their daily finance-related tasks. The Finance Manager is under the direct supervision of the Regional Director.

Specific tasks include:

  • Annual planning of the programme in-country budget in coordination with the RD and other team members
  • Usage and reporting of the in-country funds in accordance with existing forumZFD and donor requirements as well as local laws
  • Preparing financial reports for head office
  • Organising and leading on annual audit processes
  • Guiding and advising programme staff on issues relating to financial procedures and requirements
  • Checking of financial documentation of expenditures and ensuring its compliance with regulations and preparing payments
  • Preparation of supporting documents and reporting on financial processes of the offices
  • Booking of programme expenses on internal financial management software
  • Keeping Regional Director and Head Office finance department up to date on any financial management issues
  • Supervision/line-management of one other member of the finance team

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a subject relevant to the role
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role, preferably in the I/NGO sector
  • Professional working proficiency in English, Arabic, and Hebrew (written and spoken)
  • Good knowledge of different financial bookkeeping software programme
  • Strong understanding of all local laws regarding financial reporting
  • Solid proactive approach concerning the support of project staff and follow ups with supervisor
  • Good ability to work independently
  • A high level of personal efficiency with attention to detail and an ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Experience in working with multi-cultural teams
