Location: SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy and teleworking.
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has provided relief to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in 26 countries, SI teams – 3,200 people in total made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Job description
Do you have a strong interest in international relations and want to address these questions in a concrete way, from the angle of humanitarian action? You are autonomous, have writing and synthesis skills, and enjoy carrying out versatile tasks: writing summary notes, participating in events and carrying out research on geopolitical themes linked to humanitarian action, management of a site internet and its communication.
It is not necessary to have previous experience in the humanitarian sector but to be motivated.
Your work will be based at SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL headquarters and teleworking. You will assist the founder of the association in his missions: advocacy to raise awareness of the humanitarian world among political decision-makers and the public (in particular through his Défis Humanitaires website); monitors humanitarian crises, the fight for access to drinking water and sanitation… You will support its action, through your relevant research and your participation in various meetings linked to humanitarian action – Alain Boinet is a member of honor of the Board of Directors of Solidarités International and several other organizations (French Water Partnership (PFE), Think Tank (re)sources, Véolia Foundation, etc.) as well as the Humanitarian Consultation Group with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs: Crisis and Support Center.
Management of the “Humanitarian Challenges” website and humanitarian communication.
Monthly publication of the online magazine (proofreading and publication of articles, conducting interviews, newsletter, site layout, photo research, translation, etc.).
Daily management of the “Défis Humanitaires” site: management of social networks, monitoring of fundraising, communication of articles, monitoring of statistics.
Publication of the second Study on French humanitarian NGOs internationally, promotion and dissemination. Management of the subscriber database.
Research
Research on the humanitarian ecosystem, its environment, its actors and partners.
Research to support Alain Boinet’s advocacy (access to drinking water, funding for humanitarian aid).
Carrying out the quantitative and qualitative study of Défis Humanitaires on the evolution of a panel of international, French and foreign humanitarian NGOs (reading and understanding of NGO annual reports).
Monitoring humanitarian crises (Armenia, Ukraine, Sahel, Syria, Afghanistan). Writing: summary notes, meeting minutes, conference, webinar.
Other activities
Assistance in the preparation of various events linked to humanitarian action in which Alain Boinet participates and writing of reports: forum, conference, meeting.
The tasks described in this announcement are likely to evolve depending on international news and current projects.
Your profile
Training: Bac+3/4/5 in International Relations, Geopolitics, Political Sciences.
Languages: fluent English. Another language is a plus.
Computer skills: Mastery of Office Pack (Word, PPT, Excel in particular). Knowledge of WordPress is a plus.
Required qualities: autonomy, good organization, responsiveness, writing and synthesis skills, efficiency.
Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station
Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
The bonus is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence over the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Restaurant tickets at €8.90/effective day of training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
