PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Coordinate and supervise the mission’s accounting (accounting, treasury, audit procedures, etc.) in accordance with the instructions of the Finance Coordinator and in compliance with legal obligations and MSF standards and protocols, in order to provide the organization with quality, reliable and transparent information on the use and allocation of resources in the mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for ensuring that the accounting of the entire mission is completed in a timely manner (for example, cash procedures, bank accounts, receipts and supporting documents, electronic data entry, consolidation of general accounting of the mission, processes and monthly closing documents), ensuring strict respect and compliance with deadlines, guidelines, standards and financial procedures of MSF.
  • Coordinate and supervise the monthly and annual closing of the accounts and balance sheet, and present the mission’s account statement through monthly and weekly reports, in order to verify the evolution of the project’s finances and provide information in this regard.
  • Be responsible for the financial management of donor contracts (e.g. preparing and verifying financial reports to donors, monitoring and analyzing the need for adjustments). Ensure reporting conditions are met and mission stakeholders are informed of their responsibilities (e.g. logistics for stock inventory, quotes).
  • Coordinate and supervise the payment of tax obligations to comply with legal obligations.
  • Coordinate and supervise the performance of local audits related to accounting, tax, labor, stock and asset management.
  • Plan and supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (hiring, training/induction, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the personnel under their responsibility, in order to ensure the size and knowledge required and improve people’s skills.
  • It is the technical reference for any accounting-related matter, including compliance with MSF financial standards and procedures, legal compliance, training and assistance in managing MSF accounting software and systems.
  • When necessary, instruct all involved personnel on specific aspects of accounting (Mission Coordination Team, People Administration Manager, Logistics Manager, etc.)

PROFILE

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Academic training or equivalent experience

Solid accounting training and experience – professional accountant certification

University degree in accounting, finance and business administration preferred

Essential: 4 years of previous experience in similar relevant positions.

POSITION CONDITIONS

Base result: 38,624.00 MXN gross monthly.

Individual experience bonus: 2% increase in base salary per year (recognition of internal experience).

Benefits according to federal labor law: 25% vacation bonus, Social Security, holidays by law.

Benefits above the law: 25 days of vacation per year, up to 5 days of paid leave per year, additional holidays to those required by law, 30 days of bonus.
