ORGANIZATION | GIRO555
Giro555, also known as the Foundation for Collaborative Aid Organisations, is a partnership of eleven Dutch aid organisations; CARE Nederland, Cordaid, Kerk in Actie, Nederlandse Rode Kruis, Oxfam Novib, Plan International, Stichting Vluchteling, Terre des Hommes, UNICEF Nederland and World Vision. This partnership jointly raises support and funds for aid to the victims of exceptional humanitarian disasters. Giro555 works together with Dutch broadcasters, channels and other media, and asks the whole of the Netherlands to join. Together we take action for emergency aid. So far, 48 National Actions have been held. In total, the Dutch have collected more than one billion euros.
The office
When there is no action, the agency is a compact organization with four (part-time) employees. The executive manager, a communications advisor, an online coordinator, and a financial employee. When the organization takes action, the organization scales up to more than 50 employees (including press officers, social media marketers, fundraisers, event managers, emergency aid coordinators) and hundreds of volunteers.
