This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public policy, advocacy campaigns such as Home Equals Campaign, and community organizing while contributing to the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented Intern to support advocacy work at the Africa Area Office. The nature of the job is hybrid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Home Equals<\/strong>: Home Equals is a campaign initiated by Africa Housing Forum, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of housing equality. Home Equals is a five-year global advocacy campaign dedicated to achieving policy change, at all levels, to ensure that people living in informal settlement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities\/Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Research and Analysis support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct research on housing policies, socio-economic factors affecting housing, and best practices in affordable housing solutions across Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse data and trends related to housing equality and affordability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Advocacy Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the development of advocacy materials, including reports, policy briefs, and presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Support the organization of advocacy events, workshops, and forums.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with stakeholders to promote the Home Equals campaign and Africa Housing Forum initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communication:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in drafting press releases, articles, and social media content to raise awareness about housing equality issues.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and update the organization&#8217;s social media platforms to amplify advocacy efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Collaboration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with team members to coordinate advocacy campaigns and outreach activities.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with external partners, including NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder Engagement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support outreach efforts to build partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and events to promote dialogue on housing issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Legislative Monitoring<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor at least four legislative developments related to housing and community development within the Habitat For Humanity countries\/ National Organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Track bills, hearings, and other policy activities relevant to Habitat for Humanity\u2019s advocacy priorities.
