Their mission is to help people build better lives &#038; countries achieve sustainable development.<\/li>\n<li>Our clients areas of expertise cover infrastructure, procurement, project management, financial, management &#038; human resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>General construction:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide supervision of project work progress &#038; quality for on time project delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Support in monitoring contractor presence on the project site, including Bill of Quantities (BOQ) as per approved contract.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the contractors fully understand &#038; implement the provisions of our clients policies &#038; requirements with regard to Health, Safety, Social &#038; Environmental (HSSE) management.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the contractors fully understand &#038; implement the provisions of our clients policies &#038; requirements with regard to gender.<\/li>\n<li>Provide monthly report to the Site Engineer detailing all project matters including quality, health, safety, environmental &#038; financial, as well as any issues relating to possible delays, cost overruns, variations &#038; any other matter as agreed with the Project Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Feasibility study \/ need assessment:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete needs assessment, organize preliminary studies, assessments &#038; monitor \/ supervising consultants.<\/li>\n<li>Support the review of requests for new construction &#038; rehabilitation works.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out assessments &#038; prepare reports with recommendations for follow up actions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Partnership Manager to determine budget required for works &#038; other activities which came out of assessments.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Project Manager (PM) in redacting the tender dossier, with particular focus to the technical documents (drawings, BOQ, technical specification &#038; standards).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Construction supervision:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As tasked by the PM, supervise construction works &#038; administer works execution as per the contractual provisions &#038; the design specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure quantity \/ quality control &#038; time schedule consistency.<\/li>\n<li>Verify that works are consistent with the project technical specifications &#038; inform promptly of eventual deviations.<\/li>\n<li>Support the overall management of works implementation to ensure construction works are completed on time, within budget &#038; to quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Provide regular supervision of the project work progress &#038; quality for on time delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the PM \/ PMO in the preparation of project \/ contracts related documentations such as periodic progress reports, site monitoring reports, stakeholder meeting minutes, engineer\u2019s instructions &#038; variation orders, contractor\u2019s bills review reports, certifications, client hand over documents &#038; contracts close out reports.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee surveying works, engineering control of the works etc.<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out regular visits during DNP period &#038; report back to PMO if there is any discrepancy<\/li>\n<li>Document &#038; record the lessons learned for improving the delivery of works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This role will report to the line manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u00b4s degree in civil engineering is required.<\/li>\n<li>4 years working experience in project assessment, design &#038; management experience in rehabilitation projects &#038; construction projects is required.<\/li>\n<li>A previous experience in rehabilitation &#038; construction (preferable in hospitals) is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the usage of computers &#038; software packages such as drawing software, structural software solutions (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.) &#038; advance knowledge of spreadsheet &#038; database packages is required.<\/li>\n<li>Treats all individuals with respect, responds sensitively to differences &#038; encourages others to do the same.
