The project seeks to amplify the voices of Iraqi women, highlight their struggles and achievements, and foster dialogue on women\u2019s rights through art. The selected artworks will be used to enhance the visual impact of the publication\/research and other public events, ensuring the message reaches a broader audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To develop visual materials that will enhance the impact of the publication.<\/li>\n<li>To provide a platform for Iraqi feminist and activist artists to showcase their perspectives on women\u2019s rights and feminist movements.<\/li>\n<li>To commission original artworks that reflect the themes of women\u2019s rights and feminist movements in Iraq.<\/li>\n<li>To support and promote the work of feminist and activist artists from Iraq.<\/li>\n<li>To create a visual dialogue around the publication\u2019s content, making it more accessible and engaging.<\/li>\n<li>To acquire ten outstanding artworks for integration into the publication and other public events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scope of Work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The selected artist will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review the certain parts of the publication analyzing women\u2019s rights and feminist movements in Iraq.<\/li>\n<li>Develop original artworks (e.g., paintings, illustrations, digital art, or mixed media) inspired by the publication\u2019s themes.<\/li>\n<li>Submit up to 3 artworks for evaluation by the selection committee.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the project team to ensure the artworks align with the publication\u2019s objectives and messaging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A committee representing 20 women\u2019s rights organizations across different areas in Iraq will evaluate the submitted artworks.<\/li>\n<li>The committee will assess the artworks based on creativity, relevance to the publication\u2019s themes, technical quality, and impact.<\/li>\n<li>The top 10 artworks will be selected for acquisition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation and Ownership:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each of the 10 selected artworks will be acquired by Oxfam for a prize of $500.<\/li>\n<li>The artworks will become the property of Oxfam and may be used in the graphic design of the publication, public exhibitions, or other events related to women\u2019s rights and feminist movements.<\/li>\n<li>The artist will be credited for their work in all uses of the artwork.<\/li>\n<li>Non-winning artists retain all rights to their submitted work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Call for artists: March 9, 2025<\/li>\n<li>Submission deadline: March 19, 2025<\/li>\n<li>Review and selection: March 19-23, 2025<\/li>\n<li>Notification of selected artists: March 23, 2025<\/li>\n<li>Delivery of final artworks: May 25, 2025<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Oxfam will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide the summary of the publication and necessary background materials to the selected artist.<\/li>\n<li>Organize the selection process and coordinate with the evaluation committee.<\/li>\n<li>Compensate the selected artists and ensure proper credit for their work.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize the artworks in the publication and other public events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Artist will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create original artworks inspired by the publication\u2019s themes.<\/li>\n<li>Submit high-quality digital copies of the artworks by the deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Grant Oxfam the rights to use the artworks as outlined in this document.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>**Evaluation Committee:**The committee will consist of representatives from 20 women\u2019s rights organizations, ensuring a diverse and inclusive evaluation process. The committee\u2019s decision will be final and binding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acknowledgments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oxfam acknowledges the vital role of art in social transformation and is committed to supporting feminist and activist artists.
