    JOB SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Advocacy and Communication Officer is responsible for managing advocacy initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and external communications to increase awareness and support for the organization\u2019s work. This role involves coordinating media outreach, developing compelling content, engaging donors and partners, and organizing events to mobilize resources and raise public awareness.<\/p>\n

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Advocacy & Public Outreach:<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Engage with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to raise awareness about key issues.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Draft and distribute advocacy materials such as success stories, reports, and key messages.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Represent the organization in external meetings, events, and advocacy forums.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Organize awareness-raising activities, including community engagement events and workshops.<\/p>\n

    Fundraising & Campaigns:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u2022 Support online and offline fundraising campaigns.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Write compelling stories and content for fundraising appeals, donor reports, and grant applications.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Coordinate crowdfunding efforts, donor engagement activities, and sponsorship outreach.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Organize fundraising events, networking activities, and partnerships with private sector and institutional donors.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Track and report on fundraising campaign progress and donor engagement efforts.<\/p>\n

    Communication & Media Relations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u2022 Draft press releases, articles, and newsletters for public distribution.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Manage the organization’s social media platforms and website content.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Develop creative content (videos, infographics, testimonials) to engage audiences.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Build relationships with journalists and media outlets to increase coverage.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Ensure brand consistency in all communication materials.<\/p>\n

    Event Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u2022 Plan and execute advocacy and fundraising events, conferences, and public campaigns.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Work closely with donors, partners, and stakeholders to maximize impact.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Assist in preparing speeches, presentations, and key messaging for spokespersons.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Manage logistics, invitations, and follow-ups for advocacy-related events.<\/p>\n

    Internal Reporting & Documentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u2022 Document success stories and case studies to support advocacy and fundraising efforts.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Prepare reports on advocacy, media coverage, and fundraising campaign outcomes.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Coordinate internal communication efforts to ensure program teams are aligned with advocacy and fundraising goals.<\/p>\n

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n

    should have the following skills, education, and experience:<\/p>\n

    Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Marketing, or a related field.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Minimum (3) years of experience in advocacy, communications, or fundraising.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Experience in planning and implementing fundraising campaigns.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Strong writing skills for donor communication, press releases, and digital content.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Proven ability to manage social media, websites, and multimedia content creation.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Experience working with journalists, media, and donors.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.<\/p>\n

    Skills & Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u2022 Strong storytelling and content creation abilities.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Ability to engage diverse audiences, including donors and community members.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Proficiency in digital tools for campaign management (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, social media analytics).<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Knowledge of fundraising platforms and grant writing is a plus.<\/p>\n
