\nThe Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Somalia is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and operating in Somalia. ADRA\u2019s mission is to change one life at a time through enhancing development in individuals and communities. Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Officer to be based in Lasnood.
\nDuties & Responsibilities:
\n\uf0a7 Conduct regular visits to project sites to monitor the implementation of activities, gather feedback from beneficiaries and submit detailed report about the activities and findings.
\n\uf0a7 Support the project staff in community mobilization by explaining what VSLA is and their importance.
\n\uf0a7 Formation of VSLA groups
\n\uf0a7 Training of the groups on VSLA principles and running of the groups
\n\uf0a7 Regular monitoring and support of the groups.
\n\uf0a7 Assessing the groups that qualify for graduation and loaning.
\n\uf0a7 Prepare and submit data to the online VSLA web-based management system.
\n\u2022 Attend project meetings as may be requested<\/p>\n
\uf0a7 Assist to identify needs and opportunities by conducting training needs assessments.
\n\uf0a7 Collect data on project indicators and maintain an updated database on project progress
\n\uf0a7 Assist in tracking project performance at community level and report, monitor and follow up on project activities.
\n\uf0a7 Support the program team to record and analyze monitoring data for reporting and timely communicate the results of analysis to inform programme decision making
\n\uf0a7 Conduct surveys and analyze data on a quarterly basis and make recommendations to improve the project based on the findings
\n\uf0a7 Support the Project Manager to prepare periodic project reports based on accurate and evidence-based data\/information
\n\uf0a7 Support the Monitoring and Evaluation team in the tracking of outcome of activities evidenced by accurate data to enhance quality of reporting
\n\uf0a7 Identify and document human interest stories and case studies based on the successes of implemented projects
\n\uf0a7 Assist program team in reviewing log frames, M&E work plans and targets at proposal development stage through to project implementation<\/p>\n
Knowledge
\n\u2022 A degree in Education, Community Development or Project Management.
\n\u2022 Knowledge and usage of SPSS.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of VSLA will have an added advantage.
\n\u2022 Diploma holders with over 5 years\u2019 experience will also be considered.
\n\u2022 Strong data collection and collation skills, processing, analysis and report writing.
\n\u2022 Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database software programs.
\n\u2022 Experience working with civil society groups and government authorities.
\n\u2022 Good negotiating skills.<\/p>\n
