Since its establishment, AAR Japan has grown into an international NGO, approved and registered by the United Nations. AAR Japan has operated in over 65 countries and regions and is currently active in 15 countries, including four African nations: Kenya, Zambia, Sudan, and Uganda. Since 2020, AAR Japan has been operational in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, providing support to the refugees. (For more information: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aarjapan.gr.jp\/english\/\">www.aarjapan.gr.jp\/english<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><br \/><strong>Position Title<\/strong>: Field Officer (Training)<br \/><strong>Duty Station<\/strong>: Hoima \/ Kyangwali, Republic of Uganda<br \/><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 1st April 2025 to 20th March 2026<br \/><strong>Project Title<\/strong>: Child Protection Assistance for Refugees in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement and its Host Communities<br \/><strong>Salary Range<\/strong>: 1,300,000 \u2013 1,800,000 (DOE)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Field Officer (Training) is responsible for coordinating and executing training activities for teachers, community leaders, and other stakeholders. This role involves working closely with relevant project personnel to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and reporting of all training activities related to child protection and education in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement and its Host Communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Coordination<\/strong>: Work closely with schools, local authorities, donors, communities, and other stakeholders to implement AAR Japan\u2019s projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training Preparation<\/strong>: Prepare\/ arrange logistics such as venues and equipment for training activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Activity Leadership<\/strong>: Lead assigned activities from planning, procurement, mobilization, budgeting, asset control, implementation, and reporting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Analysis and Reporting<\/strong>: Analyze, manage, and compile data into reports and presentations to assess trends and the effectiveness of project activities in the settlement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training Organization<\/strong>: Plan and deliver training programs for teachers, community leaders, and other relevant groups on topics such as class management, guidance and counseling, and child protection. Additionally, the training staff will collaborate with instructors to develop content and materials, ensuring enhancement of training quality.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reports and Data Analysis:<\/strong> be responsible for compiling and submitting activity reports, monthly and data analysis for M&#038;E<\/li>\n<li><strong>Representation<\/strong>: Attend and\/or participate in the meetings, monitoring activities, and other events as a representative of AAR Japan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Additional Responsibilities<\/strong>: Perform administrative, logistical, financial, procurement and other duties as requested by supervisors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ugandan citizen, residing in Uganda, and willing to be stationed in Hoima.<\/li>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, development studies International Development, Social Work) is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Strong motivation to contribute to an aid organization and make a positive impact.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent drafting\/reporting skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and Kiswahili (with knowledge of runyoro language a plus).<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in data collection, analysis, and management, with a demonstrated ability for strategic and critical thinking.<\/li>\n<li>High integrity, self-driven, and able to work effectively under challenging circumstances with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years of experience in education, child protection, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Strong teamwork skills, flexibility, transparency, and a commitment to innovative solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Capability to complete assignments with tight deadlines under challenging circumstances.<\/li>\n<li>Punctuality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Experience Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>More than five (5) years of experience in community development and case management work (preferably focusing on children at risk) in NGO sector.<\/li>\n<li>More than five (5) years of experience in an aid organization.
