Scope:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Deputy Director is responsible for oversight and implementation of all direct service programs in the Abilene office. Current programming focuses on refugee resettlement, economic empowerment, education, youth, health, and food and agriculture initiatives. The Deputy Director will also support a wide variety of office management and administrative responsibilities. This role will represent IRC and engage regularly with external audiences to increase awareness, generate support, and raise visibility of IRC\u2019s work and client needs in the Abilene area. This position is based in Abilene, with regular onsite presence within the office.<\/p>\n Major Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n The Deputy Director works in close coordination with the Executive Director to achieve the following goals:<\/p>\n Compliance & Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure that programs comply with all contractual, reporting, and match requirements.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure quality data collection across all programs; oversee the production of reports and impact data to provide insight to internal and external stakeholders as well as inform future program design.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure that programs maintain sound fiscal management including compliance with all HR and donor policies and procedures.<\/p>\n \u2022 Represent office and assigned programs with HQ. Guide the implementation of HQ initiatives.<\/p>\n Program Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure client success with a strong emphasis on empowerment through high quality service that supports clients to thrive in their community.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure program activities are implemented consistently with donor requirements and provide technical support, oversight, and leadership to internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n \u2022 In cooperation with the development team, create and implement an annual fundraising plan and strategy with measurable goals and objectives to expand and support existing programming, including meeting match requirements with an emphasis on financial fundraising over in-kind.<\/p>\n \u2022 Create close programmatic linkages between all teams; proactively implement processes and procedures that ensure clients are connected to relevant programs throughout the agency.<\/p>\n \u2022 Work closely with staff to promote strong relationships across programs while fully implementing a client-centered service methodology across all service areas.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure that all program areas have strategic plans leading to the sustainability and growth of programming; support new project design and program development.<\/p>\n \u2022 Develop and maintain strategic community partnerships with other service providers, government agencies, foundations, employers, and other key stakeholders.<\/p>\n \u2022 Represent the office in external meetings; serve as a lead with media, community engagement, and advocacy efforts.<\/p>\n \u2022 Work with the Finance Manager and program staff to monitor and manage all program budgets and oversee that program outcomes meet proposed goals.<\/p>\n General Management<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Provide high level leadership to program supervisors including:<\/p>\n o Regular one on one meetings with all direct reports.<\/p>\n o Leadership of office management team composed of supervisors of each program area.<\/p>\n o Effective delegation of duties and responsibilities.<\/p>\n o Consistent and ongoing feedback and communication.<\/p>\n o Extensive professional development support and coaching of team members.<\/p>\n \u2022 Recruit, hire, train and supervise team members.<\/p>\n \u2022 Write and review donor reports for content and accuracy prior to submission.<\/p>\n \u2022 Oversee grant tracking and billing, coordinating narrative reporting.<\/p>\n \u2022 Assist Executive Director and Finance Manager in budgeting process.<\/p>\n \u2022 Maintain open and ongoing communication with the Executive Director, Development and Finance leadership, and other key positions.<\/p>\n \u2022 Other related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree required; graduate degree in business, non-profit management, public administration, or human services related field preferred.<\/p>\n Work Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Experience in successfully implementing refugee resettlement, immigrant services, human trafficking programs, and\/or similar programming serving vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n \u2022 Minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience with progressive levels of responsibility, including supervisory and program management experience.<\/p>\n Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Strong experience with program and budget management, strategic planning and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure program quality.<\/p>\n \u2022 Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC\u2019s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC\u2019s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.<\/p>\n \u2022 Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; fluent English required.<\/p>\n \u2022 Solid organizational and project management skills to promote productivity and efficiency.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/p>\n \u2022 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with grantors, volunteers, partner agencies, government officials, multi-cultural clients, and colleagues on all levels,<\/p>\n \u2022 Proven leadership and team-building skills,<\/p>\n \u2022 Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.<\/p>\n \u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.<\/p>\n Working Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and \u2018field\u2019 time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.<\/p>\n \u2022 May require occasional weekend and\/or evening work.<\/p>\n Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
