The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent humanitarian organization. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the ICRC has a mandate to provide protection and assistance to victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, provides humanitarian assistance in emergency situations and works to promote respect of international humanitarian law and its integration into national legislation.<\/p>\n
As part of the development of its activities in Haiti, the ICRC is recruiting one (1) candidate for the position below:<\/p>\n
Position : Safety and Security Manager<\/strong><\/p>\nPlace of assignment: Port-au-Prince<\/strong><\/p>\nType of contract: Resident<\/strong><\/p>\nReports to: Field security and crisis management coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\nDuration of the contract: CDD with possibility of change to CDI<\/strong><\/p>\nMain responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\u25aa Supervise, under the responsibility of the Field Security and Crisis Management Coordinator (FSCM Co), the movements of the ICRC and its partners as needed in an unstable security context in Haiti.
\n\u25aa Manage the team of radio operators.
\n\u25aa Collect information on security incidents from various sources in order to confirm the validity of the information received and manage and update the ICRC data collection tool.
\n\u25aa Develop and implement operational procedures relevant to security and crisis management.
\n\u25aa Closely monitor the security situation in Haiti, provide analyzes and propose mitigation measures for identified risks.
\n\u25aa Build and maintain a solid network of contacts in the police, armed groups, NGOs (national and international) and private circles as support for security analysis.
\n\u25aa Monitor the implementation of security recommendations (with premises, fleet, ICT, etc.).
\n\u25aa Ensure the follow-up of files related to the passive security of the delegation’s installations.
\n\u25aa Supervise security aspects related to the work of private company guards (close collaboration with FAD colleagues).
\n\u25aa Actively participate in internal and external meetings dedicated to security and make the necessary internal reports.<\/p>\n
Knowledge, experience and minimum criteria required<\/strong><\/p>\n\u25aa University degree (Obtained)
\n\u25aa 3 to 6 years of experience in similar positions.
\n\u25aa Training and\/or experience in the field of security management or professional experience as an analyst.
\n\u25aa Mastery of Creole and French and high level in spoken and written English
\n\u25aa Experience with communication tools, devices (HF\/VHF radio, satellite telephone, satellite messaging, etc.)
\n\u25aa Excellent capacity for analysis and synthesis.
\n\u25aa Good knowledge of the socio-political-security context in Haiti.
\n\u25aa Good knowledge of the mapping of security stakeholders in Haiti and capacity for socio-security networking.
\n\u25aa Ability to manage confidential information.
\n\u25aa Mastery of IT tools, MS Offices and database management, etc.
\n\u25aa Ability to facilitate and deliver training.
\n\u25aa Team leadership and team management skills.
\n\u25aa Experience in incident management and ability to work under pressure.<\/p>\n
