Background\/IRC Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n The International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) External Relations (ER) department enables the organization to respond to the world\u2019s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Within ER, the USA Philanthropy West team leads the organization\u2019s work with High-Net-Worth Individuals located in the Western Region of the US (west of the Mississippi River). We’re seeking an ambitious Major Giving Manager to join our team!<\/p>\n Job Overview\/Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Manager, Major Giving West will play a meaningful role in supporting the Major Giving West team within USA Philanthropy, helping to support frontline officers in handling distinct portfolios of high-net-worth donors and prospects and acting in very close collaboration with Officers and leadership to supervise progress on and implement the strategy for some of our most significant donor relationships. They will support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a defined portfolio of IRC prospects and donors for assigned Officers. They will also coordinate stewardship reporting requirements, ongoing communications, information management, and donor database updates. The Manager will closely collaborate across ER to coordinate donor engagement, stewardship, and recognition consistent with donor stewardship plans and to maintain up-to-date portfolios for assigned Officer(s). This position will report to the Director of Major Giving West.<\/p>\n This position offers a wide-ranging growth opportunity for someone eager to learn about and advance to front-line fundraising.<\/p>\n Highlights of Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Collaborate with assigned Officer(s) to carry out strategies for high-net-worth individuals within each’s portfolio, bringing in critical revenue for the organization.<\/p>\n \u2022 Draft correspondence that supports the Officer\u2019s interactions with the portfolio, including general and targeted communications such as letters and contact reports.<\/p>\n \u2022 Support the payments for Bank transactions. Ensure completeness of payment documents in compliance with IRC and Donor policies and procedures.<\/p>\n \u2022 Assist in creating materials, agendas, and briefings for external prospect and donor meetings and for internal strategy meetings.<\/p>\n \u2022 With the Officer(s), supervise and manage expectations and objectives for each donor and prospect within the portfolio, including adhering to stewardship reporting requirements and timeframes.<\/p>\n \u2022 Alongside the Officer(s), act as the liaison between donors or prospects and field staff, ensuring both parties receive the most critical information and that it is communicated clearly and strategically reflective of its audience.<\/p>\n \u2022 Collaborate with other teams, including Prospect Research and Management, Analytics, and Operations, to supervise the entire donor cycle for Major Giving West.<\/p>\n \u2022 Update the donor database (Salesforce) to maintain portfolio assignments, build and update giving proposals, request prospect research, review report requirements and submissions, supervise ongoing donor communication and activity, as well as additional relationship management duties.<\/p>\n \u2022 Manage information flows between donors and prospects, program staff, and Officer(s).<\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise internal drafting and approval processes vital for proposals, reports, and budgets.<\/p>\n \u2022 Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and IRC program\/support staff globally.<\/p>\n \u2022 Undertake special projects as advised.<\/p>\n Minimum Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n Work Experience:<\/strong> Minimum 2-3 years previous work experience, preferably gained in a development or fundraising team, non-profit, marketing, or sales team.<\/p>\n Proven Skills and Proficiencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to meet deadlines with quality products.<\/p>\n \u2022 Strong interpersonal skills; oral, written and presentation skills.<\/p>\n \u2022 Experience with and knowledge of relevant technologies and tools. with excellent analytical skills combined with the substantiated ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and handle time effectively.<\/p>\n \u2022 Understanding of the role of written communications in building and maintaining individual and institutional relationships.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to identify, build, and implement processes vital to support effective donor relationships.<\/p>\n \u2022 Strong ability to establish and maintain lasting professional relationships both internally and externally.<\/p>\n \u2022 Highly computer literate, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with CRM databases, including Salesforce.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to respond quickly to changes in short-term work priorities.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.<\/p>\n \u2022 Dedication to fundraising for international development, humanitarian, human rights, social justice, and US immigrant communities.<\/p>\n \u2022 Understanding of the US fundraising marketplace.<\/p>\n Education:<\/strong> A Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent experience is desirable but not required.<\/p>\n Working Environment:<\/strong> This role requires working remotely full-time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace where they can effectively complete their work during regularly scheduled hours.<\/p>\n Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
