This five-year activity will mobilize finance and investment in targeted sectors of the Ghanaian economy \u2013 including, but not limited to, agriculture, climate mitigation and adaptation, trade, apparel, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), renewable energy sectors \u2013 and create jobs. The activity will ensure the development of a broad and diverse finance market which is able to meet the financing needs of different business types through increased private sector investment. In addition, the activity will enhance trade by creating linkages to improved markets and empowering Small Medium<\/p>\n<p>Enterprises (SME) with growth potential to seize trade and investment opportunities and meet foreign market standards. This position will be based in Accra, Ghana. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the activity<\/li>\n<li>Lead the strategic planning of the project, including annual work plans, and provide overall vision and strategic planning for implementation<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the principal liaison to USAID and ensure effective coordination with relevant Government of Ghana stakeholders, other donors\/donor-funded projects, investors, and private and public sector stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that results, quality standards, and schedules are met on time and within budget<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate closely with USAID and the Government of Ghana in developing, implementing, and reporting on the project<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that project results are accurately and transparently captured and communicated at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and manage due diligence support, market research, and financial analyses for businesses<\/li>\n<li>Establish relationships and partnerships with and between institutions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the integration of women, youth, and other underrepresented persons across programming<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in international development, economics, finance, trade, agriculture, business administration, or a related field required<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 10 years of experience working in financial services, private sector development, local and foreign direct investment, or trade in Ghana or West Africa<\/li>\n<li>Minimum eight (8) years of supervisory experience<\/li>\n<li>Proven expertise in at least one of the following sectors: agriculture, climate mitigation and adaptation, trade, apparel, WASH, renewable energy, or related sector<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships and networks with the private sector, business associations, and other actors in economic development<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience supporting development of businesses and\/or investors<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpretation skills, including an ability to negotiate for and mentor project business clients<\/li>\n<li>Ability to cope with and function effectively in high stress and fluid environments<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English required.
