The Grants Coordinator, under the supervision of the Grants Manager, is responsible for conducting the full range of pre- and post-award activities required to prepare and submit institutional proposals to public and private donors across the IRC in NorCal, with an emphasis on IRC Sacramento\u2019s programs, with additional support to three other offices and Immigration programming. The work is performed in collaboration with IRC NorCal\u2019s leadership, development, finance, and program staff, as well as headquarters\u2019 revenue, grants, and business development staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grants Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Prospecting<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support prospecting for new opportunities, the preparation of letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets and reports to local foundations and other potential private donors to solicit restricted private funds, in collaboration with the Grants Manager, Executive Director, and the Development Director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Proposal Development (Pre-Award)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead concept note, proposal, and budget development, including ensuring log frames, program design, and narrative meet high quality standards in coordination with Programs\/Site directors, Finance Director, and headquarters\u2019 Resource Acquisition and Management (RAM), and ensure all supporting documentations in the applications are up to date.<\/li>\n<li>Write key proposal sections and edit and incorporate the input of other team members into the proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Grants Management (Post-Award)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead negotiation and agreements stage with donors and ensure contract terms are communicated with Finance and Programs through grant kick off meetings and recorded in Asana project tracking<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate grant opening and closing meetings for each grant in their portfolio.<\/li>\n<li>Modify final budgets as requested by donor and Site Director\/program lead and communicate with NorCal Finance and RAM to ensure incoming restricted funds will be tracked.<\/li>\n<li>Be a local subject expert for IRC\u2019s Business Development Standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Secondary Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with Finance, Site Director, and program staff to prepare interim and final reports to grantors.<\/li>\n<li>Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC NorCal.<\/li>\n<li>Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Working Relationships:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Reports to:<\/strong> Grants Manager &#8211; NorCal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Indirect Reporting:<\/strong> Site Director \u2013 Sacramento<br \/><strong>Other Internal and\/or External Contacts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Internal:<\/strong><\/em>  NorCal Director of Finance, Director of Development, Executive Director, Program Managers, HQ Resource Acquisition and Management department<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>External<\/strong><\/em>\u200b: Public funders and foundations<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree\/certificate in non-profit management or a related field or comparable work experience.<\/li>\n<li>Three+ years of professional experience in proposal writing, log frame development, and budget management preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with refugee resettlement and immigration support services such as social work, mental and physical health, economic empowerment, and workforce development is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work autonomously while working collaboratively with different teams to meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Self-directed but with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based applications, project management apps, familiarity with Asana a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Excellence in written and spoken English.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver high quality products against a tight schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Northern California non-profit\/philanthropy environment a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Language Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellence in written and spoken English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Environment<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard hybrid office environment (this is not a fully remote position)<\/li>\n<li>Occasional travel to other regional sites (Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Turlock\/Modesto) required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong> Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
