Job Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The welcome center is an emergency shelter for migrants and Asylum Seekers who have recently been released from government custody. The Welcome Center aims to provide safe respite and supportive emergency services to Asylum Seekers while they coordinate travel to their new home in the US.<\/p>\n

The Asylum Seekers & Families (ASF) Shelter Aide provides direct shelter services to asylum seekers to ensure all basic needs are met during their stay at IRC\u2019s Welcome Center.<\/p>\n

Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure clients have access to all services provided at the shelter including access to showers, meals, bedding, clothes, and other supplies as needed.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Complete rounds throughout the shift, to ensure all services are running smoothly and supplies are accessible to clients.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide transportation for clients in company vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and stable center; clean and organize the center and maintain child-friendly spaces.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist staff at intake area and support travel arrangements for clients.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Answer client questions regarding Welcome Center services.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Complete inventory of Welcome Center supplies and restocking for next-day operations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Participate in all program meetings and fully engage as a member of the team.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Comply with all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Other related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education:<\/strong> High School diploma or higher.<\/p>\n

Work Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Prior experience working with refugee populations or asylum seekers is highly valued.<\/p>\n

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Fluency in written and spoken English.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Spanish speaking or bilingual ability is strongly preferred but not required.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a team member.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Good communication skills; experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Valid driver\u2019s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area is required.<\/p>\n

\u2022 In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Must be able to work non-traditional hours, such as weekends, nights and holidays as needed.<\/p>\n

Working Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The Welcome Center is a 24-hour facility; must be able to work flexible work hours, including holidays and weekends with regular contact with ASF clients and volunteers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 100% onsite<\/p>\n

Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.<\/p>\n

US Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.<\/p>\n
