The Finance Manager manages a team in accordance with IRC\u2019s people manager standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Finance<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accurately track and analyze expenses and revenue; advise leadership with the objective that annual revenue exceeds expenses for the office.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Executive Director and development team on the development of all budget proposals for grants and propose budget modifications throughout the year as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure office compliance with IRC\u2019s accounting policies vis-\u00e0-vis fund accounting as noted in IRC\u2019s finance manual and generally accepted accounting principles.<\/li>\n<li>Review accounting transactions to ensure proper coding and record transactions within IRC\u2019s accounting software.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare journal entries to record HQ transactions in the regional office accounting software.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly financial reports and submit to IRC NY as per scheduled due dates.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile regional offices\u2019 database against HQ\u2019s database on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve differences in coordination with the Regional Controller.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate external and internal audits as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and coordinate the submission of financial reports to various donors in accordance with contractual obligations.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the offices\u2019 banking arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare annual and quarterly operating budgets and submit monthly cash transfer requests.<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with the Executive Director, prepare the offices\u2019 annual operating budget in accordance with established guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare \u201cgrant-specific\u201d monthly actual to budget report and coordinate the submission of approved reports for regional review.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise a team of staff in accordance with the IRC\u2019s People Manager Standards.<\/li>\n<li>Be an active, contributing member of the local Senior Management Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Administration &#038; Internal Controls<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with colleagues to support efficient and effective office operations as they relate to infrastructure, contractors and vendors, inventory, equipment and supplies, protocol and procedures, and planning.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the protection of the organization\u2019s assets by implementing IRC\u2019s Internal Control procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Review current service agreements for cost effectiveness and recommend changes as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain grant and contract files for all programs.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and\/or update office procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality as defined in the IRC Way<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate degree required, preferably in related field such as Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Graduate degree preferred.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years of progressively responsible finance, budgeting, and accounting practices experience required, preferably in a grant-driven, not-for-profit, social services environment.<\/li>\n<li>Prior team management experience strongly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Solid computer-based accounting skills, including spreadsheets and other financial related software programs.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in general office software programs like MS Word, Excel, Email, and Internet.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English, written and spoken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Environment<\/strong>***:***<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard office working environment; potential for regular remote work. Travel regularly to non-resident office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong> Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates.
