Assists all aspects of program implementation to carry out programmatic activities and ensures administrative, budgetary, and compliance requirements are being met\/or exceeded according to ABA, Center for Global Programs and donor processes and regulations.<\/p>\n

Program Associate will support the Justice Defenders mobilizes the global legal profession to protect and enable at risk human rights defenders\/advocates by 1) increasing adherence to international standards in strategically significant cases of retaliation against individual defenders or that advance media freedom or labor rights; 2) improving law, policy, or practice to reduce retaliation and remove barriers to human rights advocacy and advance media freedom or labor rights; and 3) increasing adherence to international standards and awareness of threats to human rights defenders, labor rights, and media freedom.<\/p>\n

Principal Duties\/Job Responsibilities Job Functions and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Coordinates input and conducts desk research for concept notes and program reporting, including quarterly and annual reports, drafting mmoranda, and other outreach materials, tracks business development opportunities<\/p>\n

\u2022Ensures program implementation conforms to U.S. government and\/or other donor procurement guidelines, ABA and Center for Global Programs policies<\/p>\n

\u2022Collaborates with MEL team and partners to collect, check\/clean program data, enters data in DevResults or other required MEL tracking system, develops data visualization charts and graphs for reporting<\/p>\n

\u2022Participates in planning and tracking of program activities and updates work plans, including conducting and overseeing monitoring, evaluation, and learning data collection and entry<\/p>\n

\u2022Participates in budget creation, tracks project\/program activities against budget(s), drafts financial projections and updates internal budget tracking tools<\/p>\n

\u2022Serves as a point of contact for projects and communicates with program teams, country offices, and partners on project status; coordinates and schedules team meetings, including drafting agendas and taking notes highlighting deliverables<\/p>\n

\u2022Provides advanced administrative support functions for projects and issue-area work groups, such as drafting and amending contracts, updating terms of reference, processing invoices, arranging travel, and liaising with other ABA Center for Global Programs support departments<\/p>\n

\u2022Supports drafting of job descriptions for staff and consultants and onboarding process, communicates with field offices to learn or awareness and application of local labor laws, participates in panel interviews, trains new staff on processes and procedures<\/p>\n

\u2022Assists with adherence to data and personally identifiable information privacy regulations and branding waivers and vetting processes, country media monitoring and tracking political and environmental developments impacting safety and security<\/p>\n

\u2022Performs other related duties as required<\/p>\n

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Associate\u2019s and\/or bachelor\u2019s degree<\/p>\n

\u2022Previous experience working in an office environment, including internships or volunteering.<\/p>\n

\u2022Basic skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint<\/p>\n

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Interest in commitment to rule of law, human rights, democracy and governance, social inclusion, and (other areas relevant to program\/issue).<\/p>\n

\u2022Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u2022Effective time management and a strong ability to multitask, adapt, and manage competing priorities.<\/p>\n

\u2022Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and familiarity with social media.<\/p>\n

\u2022Ability and willingness to be an effective team player.<\/p>\n

\u2022Fluency in written and spoken English.<\/p>\n

\u2022Language proficiency, if not fluency, in one or more other languages.<\/p>\n
