The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in over 40 countries to provide appropriate assistance with a rights-based approach to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees and migrants. DRC has been present in Colombia since 2011, but in 2018 it expanded its operations in response to the Venezuelan crisis. Currently, DRC Colombia implements a humanitarian response focused on protection for Venezuelan and Colombian refugees and returned migrants in Colombian cities such as Riohacha, Barranquilla and Bogot\u00e1, and currently also includes activities in Nari\u00f1o and Norte de Santander.<\/p>\n

POSITION OVERVIEW:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Financial and Budget Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure data and transactions are correctly recorded and entered into DRC Dynamics.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prepare and reconcile bank statements according to established weekly and monthly deadlines.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prepare and reconcile petty cash(ies) on a weekly and monthly basis.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain files and financial records in an orderly manner.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor contracts on a monthly basis and ensure that all contracts are renewed, closed<\/p>\n

or pay on time.<\/p>\n

\u2022 File, scan and send financial documents to the Bogot\u00e1 office on a monthly basis.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor budget for all budgets assigned to the Barbacoas base.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Support in the preparation of reports to donors.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Support the organization of external and internal audits and requests for information from donors.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure the weekly accounting closing of the Barbacoas base and the sending of the \u201cCash Counts\u201d on time.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure the monthly accounting closing of the database within the established times.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Preparation and review of payments managed in the office.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Manage the banking platform.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Create payments in the DRC Dynamics system and upload them to the bank, after reviewing compliance with DRC’s internal procedures, as well as the corresponding supporting documents.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Calculation and practice of withholding taxes, according to the guidelines given by the national office.<\/p>\n

Cash Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain cash controls in accordance with procedures established by DRC.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor cash reserves.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prepare cash requests to the Bogot\u00e1-Country headquarters.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Carry out banking transactions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain updated daily record of transactions in the DRC Dynamics system.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Management and handling of petty cash resources in accordance with the procedures established by DRC.<\/p>\n

Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Act as auditor\/verifier of the accounting and finance area processes at the base.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Comply with internal donor requirements.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Manage the documentary processes corresponding to the contract.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Support the administrative process of recruitment and selection of personnel.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Support the administrative process of document management in the finance areas.<\/p>\n
