Who are we
War Child Netherlands consists of over 50 dedicated professionals who are responsible for a large part of War Child’s income, all fundraising activities in the Netherlands and for the reputation of the organisation, both nationally and in the 19 countries where War Child is active.
As an account manager business partnerships you will be part of the Fundraising team within War Child Netherlands at our office in Amsterdam.
Your challenge
As an account manager business partnerships, you get energy from connecting companies to War Child to help even more children in war. You see opportunities that others do not see, and you value them. You have a demonstrably large business network and know how things work within the business world. You know how to structurally connect partners to War Child in smart and effective ways, and in doing so you also look at the possibility of inspiring companies, in addition to financing, to set up a fundraising campaign or to donate in kind.
With a combination of flair and integrity, you will carry the message of War Child. And although we work together as a team to achieve more, you are also able to independently establish and maintain new partnerships.
Lasting friendships
We focus on making lasting friendships, because together with our (business) partners we make a difference for the children in war. In addition to the financial support, they also help us to keep our costs as low as possible. Think of the 100% sponsored cars with which we drive to our partners, our printing, office furniture, but also event support, training and sponsored media expressions. In addition, connecting partners to our fundraising events is also essential. From sponsors to attendees: together with our Business Network we make a big difference.
We want as much money as possible to go to our programs, so that as many children as possible can participate in our projects. We are working hard to achieve this.
Responsibilities:
- Connecting new business partners for fundraising and cost savings;
- Successfully managing and developing business relationships;
- Cash in on upgrade opportunities;
- Effective management of the commercial database;
- Realizing set (financial) targets and reporting on revenues & realized cost savings;
- Keeping track of market developments and relevant trends.
Your profile:
- Relevant education and work experience in sales, fundraising, business development and/or account management;
- Experience with a similar organization (non-profit/NGO) is an advantage;
- Experience with CRM system Salesforce is a plus;
- A demonstrably large business network;

- Available for 32 to 40 hours per week;
- You are in possession of a driving license B.
- You are communicative, flexible, energetic, proactive, stress-resistant, accurate and representative.
Our offer
- An employment contract with War Child, initially for 1 year with the prospect of extension.
- Salary between €3,583– €4,455 gross per month based on 40 hours/week (classification is based on years of relevant work experience).
- 8% holiday allowance based on the annual salary.
- 29 days of vacation per year on a full-time basis (of which 3 predetermined days off).

- Home working and travel allowance according to our hybrid work policy (our office is best reached by public transport).

Our organization
War Child is a dynamic organisation with an informal atmosphere and plenty of room for creativity and personal initiative. The image that War Child projects externally is a blueprint of the work at the head office: it is dynamic, innovative, honest and focused on achieving results at low costs. War Child spends as much of its budget as possible on helping children in war zones and therefore does everything it can to keep costs as low as possible. Our employment conditions are at the level of the Dutch NGO sector. The office is located in the Amsterdam district of Watergraafsmeer. We work in a hybrid form, with the combination of home, office and in this position of course a lot at (potential) partners.
