The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in over 40 countries to provide appropriate assistance with a rights-based approach to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced people, returnees and migrants. DRC has been present in Colombia since 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and providing support to the population affected by the conflict in the south of the country, but in 2018 it expanded its operations in response to the Venezuelan crisis. Currently, DRC Colombia implements a humanitarian response focused on protection for Venezuelan and Colombian refugees and returned migrants in Colombian cities such as Riohacha, Barranquilla and Bogotá, and currently also includes activities in the municipality of Barbacoas and in Norte de Santander.
About the work:
Under the supervision of the Information Management Leader, the GI Assistant (Information Management) will provide support in information management (structuring, programming, collection, transformation and visualization of information) to ensure the quality and timeliness of the information according to the technical requirements and guidelines established in each of the programs executed in DRC.
Responsibilities
Support the correct implementation of the DRC GI strategy.
- Maintain up-to-date DRC program databases.
- Support in the creation of Forms, Flows and Dashboards.
- Generate monitoring reports and contribute to the development of presentations of data already collected.
- Manage online tools to access, collect and manage information such as Kobo/ODK, Power Bi etc.
- Provide support to colleagues in case they have technical problems or questions about information management.
- Document GI processes.
- In line with DRC operational procedures, keep data protected and confidential.
- Conduct training for DRC staff as needed.
- Travel to field offices and provide GI-related support as required.
Experience and technical skills:
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience in Information Management
- (collection, transformation and visualization of information).
- Knowledge of code for data analysis (R, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of tools for database management.
- Knowledge of Office Automation and database management.
Required Education:
Academic training in Technology or similar, Engineering, Information Management, Statistics or Mathematics. in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics.
Languages:
Basic knowledge of English.
