JOB OBJECTIVES
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager at HI in Peru, the Project Officer contributes to the implementation of the Humanity & Inclusion mandate and strategy in Peru. He/she ensures the quality and optimal impact of the project implemented in the Loreto region (Iquitos), with the support of a logistical, financial and monitoring and evaluation team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Management
1.1 Manage and coordinate with project team members and Office officials

1.3 The operations are focused on 2 major activities: Community strengthening with
gender approach, inclusion and adaptation to climate change and development of instruments on
Adaptation to climate change with a gender focus and inclusion in the local government of the District
of San Juan Bautista and the province of Maynas in the Loreto region.
1.4 Applies humanitarian standards, principles and approaches, so that field operations
always incorporate the approach of inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities and
groups at greatest risk.
1.5 Ensures strict application and compliance with the Internal Regulations of the program and policies

2. Expertise
2.1 Provides expertise and technical knowledge for project operations in
adaptation to climate change, disaster risk management with a gender and inclusion approach.
a. Ensures that the activities carried out comply with technical standards and regulations
national and international humanitarian efforts on gender and inclusion.
b. Is in charge of technical quality in the implementation of project activities.
c. Coordinates with community-based women’s social organizations,
adolescents, young people and people with disabilities in the Loreto region, for the actions

as well as their respective environmental, social development and water management departments.

3. Implementation and Monitoring
3.1 Ensures the programmatic and financial execution of the project under its responsibility,

i. Executes actions to ensure compliance with monitoring standards, accountability,

REQUESTED PROFILE
University degree in social sciences, engineering, education, communication for development or
other related ones.
At least 3 years of experience in project management in disaster risk management, emergency response or environmental management.
Disaster Risk Management in Latin America or Peru.
Knowledge of environmental management and adaptation to climate change.
Knowledge of the gender or inclusion/social protection approach.
Knowledge of territorial actors and dynamics.
Knowledge of the theoretical frameworks of humanitarian action and the inclusion and protection of groups in situations of greater vulnerability will be valued.
Knowledge about disability and universal accessibility will be valued.
Knowledge of international human rights frameworks and standards is desirable

TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCES
Experience in Risk Management programs with a territorial and/or community focus or
gender.
Experience in contexts of the Peruvian Amazon.

Ability to produce communication materials
with an inclusive and accessible approach, preferably.
