Focus on the Operations Department

The Operations Department is made up of 30 people. The mission of its members is to deploy the Association’s strategy, implement projects and provide support to field teams.

And the Geographic Manager in all this?

As Geographic Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operational running, development of missions, security and compliance with Association procedures for the area you will be in charge of.

To this end, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Strategy : you will validate the intervention strategy in the countries of intervention and manage the development and financing of the projects and operational partnerships necessary for its implementation.
• Operations : you will support and supervise the implementation, relevance, efficiency and quality of interventions, as well as the treatment of risks identified in the intervention areas.
• Security : you will be the security referent for your countries of intervention for which you will be in charge.
• Representation and Communication : you will represent the association to partners, humanitarian actors, donors, media and various authorities.
• Management : you will recruit and manage the Heads of Mission and Program Managers.
• Strategy of the Directorate of Operations and Première Urgence Internationale : you will contribute to the development of the institutional strategy and you will be responsible for the transmission of this strategy to the geographical center and the missions.

The challenges that await you:

Management of the country strategy development phase, on a reorganized division (reshuffle of the mission portfolios of the geographic divisions); Significant operational development challenges for missions in a context of increased competition for resources following the expected reduction in institutional funds

What you will need to succeed

• Formation : You can provide proof of a higher diploma (min. Master 2 or equivalent) in a field linked to humanitarian action: project management, technical training linked to one of our sectors of intervention, human resources management , financial management, etc.
• Experience : You have similar experience at the headquarters of an NGO or at least 4 years of field experience in an international NGO, in project and team coordination in emergency or post-emergency contexts. Experience in managing projects financed by institutional donors is essential, as well as security management. Do you know the intervention areas? This will be greatly appreciated. Have you already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be an undeniable asset!
• SKILLS : You have very strong managerial skills including remote team management. You have excellent writing skills.
• Required qualities : You have analytical and reflective skills and you consider yourself pragmatic. You demonstrate good interpersonal skills, ease of communication, both written and oral, and you have a taste for teamwork. You demonstrate leadership and the ability to make decisions, reliability and a sense of responsibility, rigor and organization, responsiveness and adaptability. You are diplomatic and you have the ability and taste for negotiation. You have excellent resistance to stress and an ability to work under pressure.
• LANGUAGES : Do you speak French and English fluently? This is essential for this position!

PUI will offer you

• Status: Cadre
• Salary: 4120 EUR gross monthly over 12 months
• Medical cover: 80% of the Health and Insurance mutual insurance
• Supported: Coverage of 50% of the transport ticket and 60% of the Restaurant Tickets (with a face value of €9)
• Repos:5 weeks of paid leave per year + 1 RTT per month (37 hours/week)
