I. Main function
- Assist the WWF-PNMB project manager in the implementation of component 5 of Additional financing to the draft governance of natural resources (FA-PGRN) on the ground in accordance with the requirements of the said project and the WWF strategic plan.
II. Main tasks and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the WWF project manager at the PNMB, the WWF-PNMB project manager will have the following main tasks:
- Press the completion of additional studies (estimate of carbon stock, HVC, ecotourism, identification of zoonoses, etc.) with a view to updating the development and management plan (PAG) and the PNMB business plan;
- Support the implementation of good practices to reduce the impacts of forest exploitation on PNMB and peripheries ecosystems;
- Participate in the process of updating the development and management plan (PAG) and the PNMB and peripheries business plan;
- Contribute to the implementation of the community monitoring activities of fauna alongside the PNMB administration;
- Support the rehabilitation of PNMB infrastructure to facilitate the resumption of management activities;
- Participate in the development of a long -term strategy and roadmap to mobilize technical and financial partners (PTF) for PNMB and peripheries;
- Participate in the recruitment and training of field staff for additional studies.
III. Management, monitoring and evaluation of the project
- Contribute to the development of annual work plans and technical reports;
- Develop the budgets of conservation activities, on a quarterly basis or more frequently if necessary;
- Press the WWF-PNMB project manager to ensure the effective management of project resources in accordance with planning and contractual obligations, in collaboration with the finance manager of WWF-CAR;
- Contribute, if necessary, to the research, development and education programs linked to the management of PNMB and peripheries;
- Perform other additional tasks at the request of the WWF-PNMB project manager.
IV. Profile
4.1. Qualifications required
- Minimum level Forest engineer or Master in Biology/Ecology or in a field linked to forest management or protected areas;
- Substantial work experience with conservation and civil society organizations;
- Experience of proven land in the Southwest RCA region.
4.2. Required skills and skills
- Knowledge of laws on fauna, flora and legal procedures related to the application of the law;
- Practical experience of forest, wildlife management and protected areas;
- Data analysis capacity from wildlife monitoring and forest management activities;
- Practical field knowledge to plan conservation and forest management activities;
- Ability to act proactively to improve the impact of foreservation and forest management activities;
- Mastering French, a good knowledge of English is an advantage.

4.3. Working relations
Internal : Work under the hierarchical responsibility of the WWF-PNMB project manager and in collaboration with the management of the PNMB.
External : Collaborate with local and national authorities, the PGRN team, forestry companies, communities representatives, civil society, financial partners.
