Over ons
Our organization
War Child is a dynamic organization where there is an informal atmosphere and where there is a lot of room for creativity and initiative. The image that War Child externally propagates is a blueprint of the work at the head office: it is dynamic, innovative, honest and aimed at achieving results at low costs. War Child spends as much budget as possible to help children at war and therefore does everything to keep the costs as low as possible. Our employment conditions are at the level of the Dutch NGO sector. The office is located in the Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer district. We work hybrid, with the combination of home, at the office and in this function of course sometimes on the road towards relationships.
Safety
War Child works from humanitarian values and norms. We ask the same thing from possible new colleagues. For War Child, the safety of the children and young people we support is paramount. We fight any form of abuse. Because we want children and young people to run no risk, this is extensively discussed in the recruitment of new colleagues. As part of applications, we therefore ask for references in response to the Inter-agency Misclosure Scheme and a recent Declaration of Behavior (VOG).
Equal opportunities
War Child dreams that all children can live in peace, whoever they are and wherever they grow up. That is why War Child is proud that we offer equal opportunities to everyone who wants to work with us. We promote diversity and want everyone to feel at home. War Child selects possible new colleagues regardless of their gender, race, nationality, disability, age and/or sexual preference.
Applications
We spend as much of our income as possible on supporting children and young people. That is why we work efficiently. That means that we only view applications that we receive through our websites. If we find a suitable person before the closing date, we will delete the vacancy from our websites. We can then no longer handle applications that we receive later.
