This is a 12 month term in Youssoufia or Safi, Morocco.

The mandate comes from the Voluntary Cooperation Program (PCV) Equality in Action which is deployed in 12 countries and 3 regions over a period of eight years (2020-2028). The PCV aims to increase the involvement of local partners from developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam puts the rights of women, girls and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of all its actions.

This is what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with members of the Oxfam Maroc team and the partner organization Kholoud, the advisor will have the mandate to:

  • Support the partner in caring for women victims of violence as well as people with disabilities.
  • Strengthen the partner’s ability to listen and support women victims of violence and people with disabilities (listening and communication techniques).
  • Contribute to strengthening the partner on effective approaches in social work, case management, identification of vulnerable cases and special needs, psychosocial intervention and record keeping.
  • Support the partner in the development of case management and monitoring tools, intervention and care plans.

For this mandate you must:

  • Have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Undergraduate university degree in psychology, social work, or any other related disciplines;
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working with targeted clienteles;
  • Have experience in adult training and excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Master the Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS, ZOOM, etc…;
  • Mastery of Arabic (listening and speaking) required;
  • Excellent written and oral command of French and English;
  • Adherence to Oxfam’s mission and values, including the promotion of equality between women and men.

  • Monthly allowance for your current expenses;
  • 20% increase in the subsistence allowance for an accompanying child (maximum of 2 children);
  • $1,500 CAD per year/per child for school fees.
