We are ALIMA, an alliance between doctors, local NGOs and researchers, which relies on co-construction. Our ambition is to transform humanitarian medicine by relying on research and innovation to increase the effectiveness of its actions and better protect populations from the health crises of tomorrow.

In 2025, we are developing our activities by strengthening our presence in West and Central Africa and continuing our deployment in East Africa and Haiti. In this dynamic, we are launching a call for applications for futur.es Medical Coordinator.

YOUR MISSION

Inasmuch as Medical Coordinatoryou will be responsible for defining the objectives and technical orientations of ALIMA’s medical projects. You will propose strategies consistent with the medical and humanitarian needs of the intervention areas, and provide technical support to medical teams.

You will analyze, define and adjust the medical objectives of ALIMA projects in your mission country.

You will analyze, interpret and define the medical-operational strategy of your country of mission.

You will collect and interpret medical data and support and strengthen the capacities of medical teams

You will be in charge of monitoring and evaluating medical projects, including the analysis of quality indicators, strategic adjustments and writing reports.

You collaborate with stakeholders, including local authorities, partners and other NGOs.

You will implement protective measures and in particular prevention measures against abuse of power, sexist and sexual violence within the framework of ALIMA policy. You will be responsible for establishing a work environment that allows everyone to flourish and serves our beneficiaries first and foremost.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Holder of a Doctorate in Medicine
  • You have at least 7 years of experience in humanitarian action including several significant experiences in ALIMA’s areas of intervention and 3 years of experience in one or more project and team management positions.
  • You adhere to the principles of the ALIMA charter and its abuse prevention policy.
  • You are committed, willing and motivated to join us or continue your career with us. You are both diplomatic, a good negotiator, determined, patient, but also innovative and creative. You know how to lead teams in a changing context.

CONDITIONS

Duration and type of contract : 12 months renewable once

Taking up position : As needed. Several positions to be filled during 2025

Salary : According to ALIMA salary scale + valuation of experience + Per diem

ALIMA supports:

  • Travel costs between your country of origin and the mission location
  • Your accommodation in the mission country
  • Medical coverage for you and your dependents, from the first day of contract to one month after the date of departure from the country of mission for you and your family. Foresight, evacuation and repatriation
  • A daily per diem
  • A 10-day break every 3 months with full coverage of transport costs to your usual place of residence
