The Médecins du Monde program on the Hauts de France coast has been helping exiled people stuck on the Franco-British border, from Calais to Dunkirk, for over fifteen years, waiting to try to reach the United Kingdom. In 2015 and 2016, this program urgently developed a very high operational volume. After the evacuation of the “Calais jungle” in the fall of 2016, then the destruction of the “Grande-Synthe camp” in March 2017, the activity went through a period of standby before resuming, during 2017, an operational volume that mobilizes a large team in a complex political context and a security context that could deteriorate.
Today, the program team is made up of four employees and around forty volunteers, including two volunteer managers. Its operational activities include two weekly “mobile clinic” sessions per week (primary health care medical consultations, mediation, support to mainstream health care facilities and mental health activities) and one weekly session of outreach and support to mainstream health care facilities.

Under the hierarchical supervision of the Nord Littoral program coordinator, your main responsibilities are to implement health promotion activities and ensure the quality of activities, practices and medical data. Your missions include:
Implementation of activities and monitoring
- Manage volunteer schedules, provide briefings and debriefings
- Supervise operational primary health care activities (including the mental health and psychosocial support dimension)
- Participate in field activities, particularly during mobile clinic sessions
- Liaise with healthcare partners, monitor patient referrals
- Adapt the program data to be collected to changing needs, monitor their collection and train teams in their use
- Ensure the quality of activities (implementation of medical protocols, pharmacy management)
- Process orders and monitor pharmacy management
Reporting and advocacy
- Analyze statistical and qualitative data reported by field teams
- Collect testimonies, report potential dysfunctions, feed the program’s advocacy axes
- Write monthly activity reports for the medical/health section
- Ensure contextual monitoring, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the program, propose adaptations or reorientations
- Ensure compliance with the association’s strategic and political guidelines.
Profile sought
- Knowledge of existing medical-social structures, knowledge of the situation on the Franco-British border
- At least three years of professional experience
- Experience working in intercultural contexts and with audiences in precarious situations, particularly migrant populations
- Design and deliver training courses, develop training tools
- Working with partners, representing the association in an institutional framework

Conditions of employment
- Position to be filled quickly on a fixed-term contract (CDD) of two (2) months
- Gross monthly salary of 2,991 euros
- Job status: employee
- Equivalent to 13th month paid in 2 installments – from 6 months of actual work seniority
- Mutual insurance (60% participation by MdM and 40% by the employee)
- 22.5 RTT / an
- 5 weeks of paid vacation / year
- Meal vouchers worth 9.00 euros (60% contribution from MdM)
