Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries.
The legal department is looking for a General Legal Intern M/F
The MSF Legal Department provides general/private legal advice and support to Médecins Sans Frontières teams both in the field and at headquarters.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a General Lawyer intern with skills in commercial law, business law, tax law, litigation (criminal and civil procedure) and administrative framework.
Mission :
Your main activities are, in direct or indirect support of humanitarian operations, and across the different jurisdictions where MSF activities are implemented:
(1) Drafting of notes, tools and guidelines intended for operational staff in the field;
(2) Drafting and reviewing various contracts in English and French;
(3) Various legal monitoring and research in different legislations in French and English;
(4) Management of governance and fiscal policy aspects of the movement;
(5) Management of contentious files in the field (tax, customs, administrative, commercial, criminal);
Profile sought:
Education/Experience:
- PPI EFB internship / Holder of a Master 2 in law / Science Po Law School / Other equivalent profile.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a law firm or company, involving the drafting of contracts and/or litigation management.
Skills and abilities: Editorial rigor, ability to problematize and synthesize; interest in MSF’s humanitarian and associative activities; open-mindedness, ability to adapt and work in a team.
LANGUAGES : Very good level of English (B2) and French (C2), particularly in writing (50% of work in English).
Status : 6-month internship, full-time, with mandatory internship agreement. Based in Paris, Jaurès metro station. From January 6, 2025 to June 27, 2025.
Conditions :
Compensation of €7.70/hour for a Bac+5 level. Meal vouchers with a face value of €11.00 covered at 60% by the employer. Reimbursement of 50% of the public transport subscription. Granting of 2 days of rest per month.
