Who are we looking for?
For us, it is all about one thing, and that is ensuring that children who experience war receive the right support. As a Fundraiser for Individuals, you play an important role in this by inspiring, recruiting, retaining and upgrading the right target groups through door-to-door canvassing and other existing, creative and innovative fundraising initiatives. You will work closely with our other fundraisers and communication advisors.
War Child Netherlands is looking for an enthusiastic, enterprising Fundraiser for Private Individuals. Your drive is contagious to others to make fundraising a success. You like dynamics and like to use your decisiveness and humor within an ambitious team in an informal working atmosphere.
War Child Netherlands consists of over 50 dedicated professionals who are responsible for a large part of the income of the War Child Alliance, all fundraising activities in the Netherlands and for the positioning and reputation of the organization. You are part of the Fundraising team and report to the Head of Fundraising.
Your responsibilities
- You translate the fundraising strategy into concrete plans to recruit, engage, upgrade and retain donors.
- You do this through door-to-door canvassing, omni-channel campaigns, direct mail, events, but you also initiate new initiatives.
- You manage the schedules, budgets and targets and report on progress.
- You work data-driven and monitor, test and evaluate the quality of the fundraising initiatives for which you are responsible and create insights into which fundraising methods are the most valuable.
- You are someone who proactively looks for opportunities in the market to test and further develop new methods.
- You work closely and easily communicate with other fundraisers, communications specialists and database administrators.
- You maintain contacts and account management for various external parties.
- You will take part in project groups that cross departments, in which you represent the interests of our private target group.
Your Profile
- You fully support the objectives of War Child, have an affinity with our work and are able to convey this to others.
- Relevant work experience in a marketing, fundraising and/or commercial position at a comparable level is an advantage.
- You are commercial and creative and you push the boundaries.
- You work data-driven.
- You are a strong account manager for external agencies
- You feel comfortable in a dynamic working environment.
- You have good communication skills and are fluent in Dutch and English.
- Available 32-40 hours per week
Our offer
- €3,478-€4,325 gross per month based on 40 hours/week.
- 8% holiday allowance based on the annual salary.
- An employment contract for 32-40 hours.
- 29 days of vacation per year on a full-time basis (of which 3 predetermined days off)
- A pension scheme fully paid for by War Child.
- Net contribution to home working and travel expenses in accordance with our hybrid work policy (our office is best reached by public transport).
- Monthly mobile phone allowance of €25 net per month.

Our Organization
War Child is a dynamic organisation with an informal atmosphere and plenty of room for creativity and personal initiative. The image that War Child projects externally is a blueprint of the work at the head office: it is dynamic, innovative, honest and focused on achieving results at low costs. War Child spends as much of its budget as possible on helping children in war zones and therefore does everything it can to keep costs as low as possible. Our employment conditions are at the level of the Dutch NGO sector. The office is located in the Amsterdam district of Watergraafsmeer. We work in a hybrid way, with a combination of home, office and of course sometimes on the road to clients in this role.
